Heather's legal career is all about probate law. Before private legal practice, Heather worked as a probate court law clerk, a probate court staff attorney, special counsel to the probate judge, and a probate court magistrate judge for several judicial administrations.
Heather is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association.
Heather earned her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Capital University Law School. Heather was the recipient of the following law school awards: the Dean's Award for Outstanding Scholarship, Leadership and Contributions; the Dean's Excellence Merit Scholarship Award; the Susan Gilles Women's Law Association Scholarship; and the Judge Richard B. Metcalf Merit Scholarship for achievements in probate law. During law school Heather made the Dean's list for 5 semesters, and received the CALI award in Contracts II, Professional Responsibility, Legal Drafting and Trial Advocacy. At graduation, she received pro bono honoree recognition and was inducted into the Order of the Curia.
Before law school, Heather spent over a decade in corporate America in sales and business administration for a Fortune 500 company. She lived and worked in NYC for 6 years before returning to Ohio.
Heather was born and raised in urban Ohio. She graduated from Kent State University, where she met her husband, Todd (born and raised in rural Ohio). Todd and Heather have been married for 25 years. After college, Todd and Heather spent 6 years living and working in New York City, before returning to Ohio to begin their family.
Todd and Heather have 2 amazing "adult" children and extended family throughout Ohio.
Heather enjoys walking into the city with Todd, reading novels, vintage fashion, good food and hosting friends!
